Abstract - Aptitude of Penicillium caseicolum in production of lipolytic enzymes
The aptitude of Penicillium caseicolum lipases has been searched for in a collection of about 100 strains of various origins by cultivation in liquid medium. The lipasic activity has been tested on culture filtrates by measuring the pH variations in a slightly buffered emulsion of tributyrin. The strains of P. caseicolum show lipasic activities that may be quite different, the variations of these activities being possible between 1 and 10. The repartition of the strains, according to their activity, show the caracteristics of a bimodal type distribution, and two homogeneous under-groups can be distinguished. A positive correlation is shown between the extracellular lipasic and proteolytic activities.
