Abstract - Effect of spreading different types of manure on contamination of forages and of the soil by Clostridium spores. Part I. Effect of the origin of the manure of its fluidity and of the thickness of the plant
Results show that spreading manure increased spores concentration in the grass and that decontamination was slow. The fluidity of the manure had little importance for the volumes spread during the experiment.
Thus, we conclude that contamination would be low at the end of the month if the manure does not contain more than 104 spores per mL, and if the grass is not thick. Consequently, the quality of silage given to animals is of considerable importance
